Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness is an ancient Buddhist practice that has become increasingly popular in recent years since it was brought to the USA by Jon Kabat-Zinn.

There has been a wealth of research which documents the way in which the practice has resulted in positive change and in actually changing the neural pathways of the brain.

Mindfulness calms down the emotional system and is wise and affectionate attention to self.  It does not take away physical or emotional pain. It does help us to sit with it, recognising that nothing is a permanent state.
